Dr. Basso was born and raised (with only a brief time out of the state) in Florida. As a very young girl, she decided she wanted to be a veterinarian after rescuing a dove that flew into a glass window. Dr. Basso attended the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) and then the University of Florida (Go Gators!!) where she received her veterinary medicine degree in 1998. She then returned to Central Florida where she has practiced since. She practiced 8 years in a feline only practice and the remainder of the time in a feline and canine companion practice, which she loves.
Her special veterinary interests include feline and canine internal medicine. Her outside interests include time with friends and family and an assorted list of activities such as theme parks, zoos, casinos, genealogy, scrap booking, art gardening and others. She shares her home with her two male tabby cats named Chewy and Joey.
